Job Opportunities

The City of Winston-Salem seeks qualified applicants to fill job vacancies. You can view openings and then apply online or download and print the application. Applications are also available in the Human Resources Department in the Stuart Municipal Building. Hiring Freeze: In order to better serve our citizens, we are only accepting applications for the following positions:

  2. Read the job description and qualifications by clicking on the Job Title listing.
  3. If you are interested in applying for the job online, click the "Apply For This Job" button and fill in the form.
  4. A separate application is required for each position for which you wish to apply. If you wish to apply for multiple positions online, click on one of the links under "Other Positions" in Step 6. Select the position and then click ADD TO JOB CART. For paper applications, make copies of a filled-out application and put the correct job position number on each one.
  5. All questions on the application must be answered; incomplete applications will not be considered.
  6. A resumé may be submitted in addition to the application, but not instead of it.

Full-time positions involve at least 40 hours of work per week and receive benefits.

Part-time positions involve less than 40 hours of work per week, and may or may not receive benefits.

Seasonal or Temporary positions are for limited periods of time, such as a summer or a special event, and usually do not receive benefits.

Some positions, such as for the Fire or Police departments, may have special requirements. Some positions may require special skills test.
